This post is ridiculously overdue, but I have to tell you about a great little spot in NYC’s West Village: The Hudson Clearwater.

While gallivanting around New York last month, my friend and I stumbled into an unmarked doorway in the West Village and found ourselves in a fairy-tale bistro. As we sat down in the sun-drenched front room, we took in the perfectly crafted atmosphere; it felt like we were in a quaint English tavern. It wasn’t until looking at the menu that we discovered that we were in The Hudson Clearwater, at 447 Hudson St. RompWorthy in NYC | The Hudson Clearwater

Everything on the menu looked delicious, and as our neighbors received their food, our decisions got harder. Ultimately, I settled on a butter lettuce salad with chicken, peaches, pecans, buttermilk-chive & tarragon dressing. My companion went with a kale salad complete with fennel, heirloom carrots, shaved beets, cabbage, sunflower seeds, saffron citronette. Given our healthy choices, we indulged in a plate of frites to share.

We left full and happy. Unfortunately we didn’t get to check out the patio, but I hear that it’s a perfect spot for an off-the grid, romantic dinner. So if you ever find yourself in NYC’s West Village, do checkout The Hudson Clearwater.
